Detailed 5 Nights 6 Days Kashmir Itinerary – Srinagar, Sonmarg, Gulmarg & Pahalgam

Day 1 – Arrival in Srinagar & Mughal Garden Sightseeing

Your Kashmir journey begins upon arrival at Srinagar International Airport, where our driver will greet you and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. The drive into Srinagar takes about 30–40 minutes and passes through the historic parts of the city, including the famous Abdullah Bridge crossing the Jhelum River.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, is known for its beautiful lakes, Mughal gardens, wooden houseboats, and snow-capped Himalayan surroundings.

After checking into your hotel and relaxing briefly, begin exploring some of the most famous Mughal gardens in Srinagar. These gardens were built during the Mughal era and are known for their terraced lawns, flowing water channels, and scenic views of Dal Lake.

Nishat Bagh – Garden of Bliss

Nishat Bagh is one of the most beautiful Mughal gardens in Kashmir. Built on the eastern bank of Dal Lake, the garden features twelve terraced levels symbolizing the twelve zodiac signs.

The garden offers stunning views of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan mountain range rising behind it.

Shalimar Bagh – Garden of Love

Shalimar Bagh is the largest Mughal garden in Srinagar and was built by Emperor Jahangir for his wife Noor Jahan. The garden is famous for its Mughal architecture, fountains, and symmetrical design.

Visitors often enjoy peaceful walks through the terraced lawns surrounded by chinar trees.

Chashme Shahi

Chashme Shahi is a smaller but very charming Mughal garden centered around a natural spring. The spring water here is believed to have medicinal properties.

The garden provides scenic views of Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains.

Shankaracharya Temple

Located on Shankaracharya Hill overlooking Srinagar, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple offers panoramic views of Srinagar city, Dal Lake, and the surrounding Himalayan valleys.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden

The Tulip Garden is the largest tulip garden in Asia and blooms during the spring season (March–April). During this time, thousands of colorful tulips cover the garden, creating one of the most spectacular spring landscapes in Kashmir.

After completing the sightseeing tour, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
