A real cost breakdown from someone who plans Manali trips on ground
If you search this question online, you’ll see prices all over the place — ₹3,999, ₹7,000, ₹18,000, ₹30,000+. No explanation. No context. Just numbers.
Here’s the honest answer:
A Kullu Manali tour package doesn’t have one fixed price. The cost depends on how you travel, when you travel, and what’s actually included.
I run Manali Travel Adventure from Manali, Himachal itself, and this breakdown is based on real bookings, not marketing figures.

Average Cost of a Kullu Manali Tour Package (Quick Answer)
For a couple, a proper Kullu Manali tour package usually costs:
- ₹17,900 – ₹20,000 in off-season (Volvo from Delhi)
- ₹23,000 – ₹26,000 during peak season

What’s Actually Included in These Packages
This is where most confusion starts.
A proper Kullu Manali Volvo Package should include:
- Delhi → Manali → Delhi Volvo tickets
- 3 nights hotel stay
- Breakfast & dinner
- Sightseeing taxi for all 4 days
Our usual sightseeing flow looks like this:
- Day 1: Pickup + Manali Local Sightseeing
- Day 2: Solang Valley (optional Atal Tunnel / Sissu Valley/Rohtang Pass)
- Day 3: Kullu – Kasol – Manikaran
- Day 4: Naggar Heritage tour + evening Volvo drop
Why Cheaper Kullu–Manali Packages Can Be Misleading
Many low-cost Kullu–Manali tour packages look attractive at first glance, but the difference shows up once you check the actual inclusions.
Taxi Is Often Removed on the Last Day
In several cheaper packages:
-
Taxi service is cut on Day 4
-
Guests are asked to manage transport on their own
-
Travelers have to reach the Volvo bus stand by themselves
-
The return Volvo to Delhi is included, but local support is not
That’s why comparing prices without checking taxi coverage can be misleading.
How We Count Nights & Days in Volvo Packages
We follow a transparent and industry-standard format.
3 Nights / 4 Days Volvo Package
Includes:
-
3 nights hotel stay in Manali
-
4 full days of local sightseeing by private taxi
-
Volvo bus journey is included but overnight travel is not counted as a hotel night
2 Nights / 3 Days Volvo Package
Includes:
-
2 nights hotel stay
-
3 days local taxi in Manali
-
Return Volvo included (overnight journey not counted as stay)
Common Confusion Created by Some Travel Agents
Some agents market the same package like this:
-
5 Nights / 6 Days Volvo Package
What it actually includes:
-
3 nights hotel stay
-
4 days local taxi
-
2 overnight Volvo journeys
But many travelers assume:
“We are getting 5 hotel nights and 6 sightseeing days”
That’s where confusion starts.
The Bottom Line (Important for Travelers)
-
Always check hotel nights vs overnight travel
-
Confirm taxi inclusion on the last day
-
Ask whether pickup/drop to Volvo stand is included
-
Don’t compare packages only by price—compare inclusions
A slightly higher-priced package often offers better comfort, full taxi support, and zero last-day hassle.
Delhi vs Chandigarh: Why Starting Point Changes the Cost
Your starting city matters a lot.
Starting from Delhi
- Best option: Volvo package
- Lower overall cost
- Most popular choice for couples
Starting from Chandigarh
- Best option: Private taxi tour
- Duration usually becomes 4N/5D

Travelers flying in usually choose Chandigarh. Others prefer Delhi because flights are cheaper and Volvo packages cost less.
Volvo Package vs Private Taxi Tour
Both are good — it depends on your travel style.

Manali prices change sharply through the year.

Same places, fewer crowds, better value. October, November – best time to travel and if you want to see snow then plan after Jan – Mar month in lowest price.
Snow Expectations & Hidden Cost Reality
This is one of the biggest myths.
Rohtang Pass remains closed from mid-November to mid-May. But totally depends on weather condition. This year in 2025 till 30 Nov rohtang remain open for all types of vehicle & from 01 Dec 2025 to 28 Dec 2025 Rohtang pass open only for 4×4 taxi in manali.
Also on 29 Dec 2025 we received an update from official that Rohtang pass remain open till 02 Jan 2026 for all types of vehicle as weather forecast for Manali is good.
During winter, Once Rohtang pass closed then people visit
- Solang Valley – If no snow in solang then visit further
- Atal Tunnel & Sissu Valley- Atal Tunnel is also depends on weather & snowfall
If heavy snowfall starts in manali then normal vehicles are not allowed, from solang valley to atal tunnel route and guests must hire a 4×4 taxi. These costs are not fixed and depend on weather and crowd.
Typical winter add-on costs: which increase your manali tour package cost
- Regular vehicle if allowed: ₹2,500 – ₹3,000- You can also pre included these places in summer only
- 4×4 required: ₹5,000 – ₹7,000 – During Winter Season
- Shared 4×4: ₹800 – ₹1,500 per person – Sharing option is also available in solang valley
That’s why snow routes are not pre-included in fixed packages.

- Avoid deals that sound too cheap to be true
Manali itself isn’t expensive. Confusion comes from unrealistic expectations.
